Catit Water Fountains

A circulating fountain is worth it because most cats drink more from moving water than from a still bowl, and thin water intake sits behind a lot of feline urinary trouble. PeekAPaw stocks three Catit water fountains and the replacement filters they all need.

The standard PIXI holds 2.5 litres and comes in light pink, light blue or sage green with a plastic top. The stainless steel PIXI is the same 2.5 litres with a dishwasher-safe steel top: easier to keep genuinely clean, and the version Catit points to for cats prone to chin acne. The PIXI Smart holds 2 litres, adds a UV-C clarifier and a status light, and is controlled from the PIXI app.

Two practical points. Every one of them uses the same triple action filter, which needs replacing about once a month; a filter left in too long stops working and starts holding what it caught, which is usually why a fountain begins to smell. And the Smart model joins 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only, so a 5GHz-only network will not find it.
