Credelio Plus is a small chewable tablet given once a month, rather than a spot-on applied to the skin. PeekAPaw stocks all five weight bands - 1.4-2.8kg, 2.8-5.5kg, 5.5-11kg, 11-22kg and 22-45kg - and the band sets the dose, so weigh the dog rather than estimating.
It combines two actives. Lotilaner covers fleas and ticks, including paralysis ticks, brown dog ticks and bush ticks, and starts killing fleas within two hours of dosing. Milbemycin oxime covers heartworm and gastrointestinal worms: roundworm, hookworm and whipworm. Credelio Plus does not cover hydatid tapeworm, so if that matters where you live you will need a separate wormer alongside it.
Give it once a month, with or following food. The 1.4-2.8kg size is stocked as a single-dose pack only; the four larger bands come in 1, 3 and 6 packs, and a 6 pack covers half a year, so check the expiry date on the carton if you are buying ahead. Talk to your vet before starting a puppy, or a dog already on another parasite product.
