A fine-textured fern with soft, layered fronds. Two sizes are listed, but they are not the same plant scaled up: medium is 28cm and 300g, large is 30cm and 350g — only 2cm taller, yet a substantially denser and fuller piece, and priced accordingly.
Look at both photos before choosing. If you want a modest midground fern, the medium is the one; the large is a feature plant.
Features
- Medium 28cm (300g) — midground fern, moderate density
- Large 30cm (350g) — markedly fuller and heavier, a single-feature plant
- Fine layered fronds — soft texture that moves with the flow
- No maintenance — no lighting, CO2, fertiliser or trimming, and herbivorous fish will not eat it
Care
Rinse under warm running water before it goes in the tank. Fine fronds collect detritus faster than broad leaves — swish it in a bucket of old tank water at water changes. Never use soap or detergent.
Worth knowing
Artificial plants do not take up nitrate or oxygenate the water the way live plants do. They are for structure, cover and looks — your filter and water changes still do the work.
